Slow Down to Speed Up: How to Be More Intentional In 2023

The overwhelming question on my mind as we wrap up 2022 is, “How have I been intentionally creating a life I love this year and in what areas could I have been more intentional?”

You see, what I’m realizing is that one of the biggest reasons we don’t create a life we love is because we rarely take the time to sit down and define what that would even look like. How can we live out a life of our own unique version of freedom if we don’t articulate what that means for ourselves and our families?

So, I’m determined to do that before running into 2023. Taking time to reflect and ask ourselves the hard questions may be one of the most avoided activities in our world today. But it’s definitely one of the most important things we can do.

In a world where the noise and the hustle never stops, sometimes we just need to slow down to speed up. Sometimes it takes us slowing down and getting clear on what we want, where we want to go, and how we want to get there to be able to intentionally go. Otherwise, it’s easy to busy ourselves and look up at the end of the year and be no closer to our freedom than we were at the beginning.

I encourage you to join me these last couple weeks of 2022 and slow yourself down. Take that time. Slow down so you can speed up. Walk with intention and purpose into 2023 and create the freedom you want for you and your family.

1. What did I/we as a family do well this year?

2. What could I/we have done better?

3. What will our top 3 priorities be for 2023 and why?

4. What was my greatest accomplishment this year and what do I want it to be in 2023?

5. Who do I want to be and how will I grow into that person?

6. What experiences and memories do I want to create for my family in 2023?

7. Which boundaries did I hold well and which do I need to tighten up on?

8. What makes me the happiest and how can I do more of that in 2023?

9. What can I do to create a life I love?

That’s it! Short and sweet so you have more time to slow yourself down.
